Therapy Dog Test Prep and Maintenance Classes help you and your dog prepare for animal assisted activity (AAA) commonly known as pet therapy. These classes will acquaint you with different aspects of AAA and help you develop the team skills required to pass the skills portion of the Delta Society Pet Partners® Evaluation. Therapy Dog Classes are for those who want to learn more about pet therapy, who want assistance learning the skills required to make a great therapy team, and for those already active in a pet therapy program who want to keep their skills sharp. Precise obedience performance isn't required, however the handler must have control of their dog while visiting, including a reliable sit, down and stay. Delta Society Pet Partners® Evaluations are given on Sundays. Check master calendar for specific dates.
Dogs cannot be leash aggressive/reactive towards people or other animals.
Cost: $240 for 6 weeks or $40 per class. Pre registration is required.

What Your Life Looks Like Now
- You love your dog and think that others would benefit from spending time with him.
- Your dog is trained in basic obedience or is currently attending a training class at Kathy Santo’s Dog Training (good for you!)
- You have at least an hour each week to devote to take your dog to visit people in hospitals, nursing homes, library reading programs or other such programs.

In class you’ll learn the skill needed to pass the skills portion of the Delta Society Pet Partners® Evaluation.
Precise obedience performance isn't required, however the handler must have control of their dog while visiting, including a reliable sit, down and stay, come when called. You also must learn to handle your dog safely around distractions and in new environments.
Delta Society Pet Partners® Evaluations are given on Sundays. Check Master Calendar for specific dates.
