Private Training

One-on-one training for a lovable, well-behaved dog!

Whether you prefer private dog training sessions for more 1 on 1 attention because your dog isn't ready to learn in a group setting, or because you want to tackle specific behavior issues in a private setting, we're here to help you!

Each private session is designed to meet your individual goals.

We’ll spend the time we’re together targeting your specific goals. Whether it’s teaching him commands and manners, or solving the problems you want him to “unlearn”, a private lesson allows our trainers to focus on just you (and anyone you’d like to bring with you) and your dog!

At the end of the session, you’ll receive a personalized, achievable homework plan – complete with printable resources – created specifically for you, your family, and your dog.

We've been working with all dogs, of all ages, with all issues, for over 30 years:

  • Aggression / reactivity
  • Fear
  • New puppy
  • First-time dog owners
  • Multiple dog household issues
  • Housebreaking challenges
  • How to find/choose a new puppy or rescue dog
  • Runaway dogs
  • Escape artists
  • Basic control and manners
  • Biting
  • Jumping up
  • Dogs who “don’t listen”
  • And so much more!

Sessions are booked in 30 (at school, only) or 60-minute blocks.

They can be held at your home, or at our school.

Our private sessions yield instant results and are a great ‘jump start’ before or while taking a class with us.

Improving your relationship (and life!) with your dog can start now.

Beyond Basic Obedience

For a more structured private training experience, we offer the following programs:

Baby Makes Four:

We offer pre- and post-baby consultations, providing you with the latest information and important exercises to help your canine companion feel more comfortable with the major changes that come with having a baby.

This can help prevent future issues that could arise without guidance, awareness, and training.

Dog Finder:

Need help finding a dog best matched for your family?

With over 30 years of experience in animal placement at shelters and with rescue groups, we have the tools and experience to find the dog or puppy that’s right for you – from a shelter or a breeder.

Services can include interviewing you (and your family), consulting with breeders, traveling to pick out the dog, and performing an evaluation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Rates range due to traveling distance.

Aggression Management:

Utilizing the principles of behavioral science, we’ll work towards controlling and reducing your dog’s aggressive tendencies. At the same time, we’ll help you create an environment to support the work you’ll be doing with your dog.

You’ll learn about canine body language (so you’ll be able to better read your dog’s signals that precede reactive behavior), the right kind of equipment to help manage your dog’s aggression, and behaviors to teach your dog how to defer to you instead of reacting.

We will address the following behaviors:

  • Leash lunging
  • Aggression towards people or other dogs
  • Food aggression (resource guarding)
  • Possession aggression
  • Territorial aggression
  • Body-handling issues
  • And more!
